Lilian is referred to as Mrs Kirtin because she remarried when in her 70s (I need to check the spelling of the surname). 

Her second husband was a farmer from Yorkshire who couldn't have been more different to Pip.  Not surprisingly, after a while Lilian and the farmer went their separate ways.

The interview took place at my parents' home at 54 Wick Farm Road, Littlehampton.
